July 23, 2026 District Taking Old Reservoir Offline

Update:  At approximately 1:30 PM, the District completed work that took the old reservoir offline.  System is now back to normal operation.

_______________________________________________

The planned shutting down of the District's original 100 kGal Reservoir is in process today.  After evaluating the original proposed process for draining the reservoir, a field decision has been made to continue to send the stored water into the distribution system for patron use rather than drain the water into the ground.  As a result, Patrons may see some water pressure fluctuations throughout the day as this process is managed.  The level in the older reservoir will be sufficiently low by the end of the day to completely disconnect it from the system, per the plan approved by DEQ.

The longer term plan for the older reservoir is to evaluate the overall condition, make repairs, and recondition it to increase its useful life, and to finally bring it back online to add to our total reservoir capacity.  This project will take place over the next year.
